Overview
Fly is a Chrome browser extension that uses AI to automatically group your tabs by topic. The extension is designed with privacy as a core principle - your browsing data stays on your device.
Local-First Design
- •Tab URLs and titles are processed locally on your device.
- •AI grouping requests send only minimal metadata needed for categorization.
- •We do not store your browsing history.
- •Page content is never transmitted or stored.
Email Requirement
Fly requires an email address to create an account. This is used to:
- •Prevent abuse: Rate-limiting and fair usage enforcement depend on verified accounts.
- •Account access: Sign in across devices and manage your subscription.
- •Your email is never sold, shared with third parties, or used for marketing without consent.
Cross-Device Sync
When signed in, you can optionally sync across devices:
- •Tab group configurations (names, colors) are synced. Not individual URLs.
- •Cross-device sync is optional. The extension works fully on a single device.
Data We Collect
- •With account: Email address, subscription status, group preferences.
- •All users: Email address (required for account creation and abuse prevention).
- •Never collected: Full URLs, page content, browsing history, keystrokes.
Pro Subscription
- •Free tier includes weekly grouping runs.
- •Pro subscription unlocks unlimited runs and higher accuracy.
- •Payments are handled by Stripe. We do not store card details.
Third-Party Services
- •AI Provider: Minimal tab metadata sent for grouping categorization.
- •Stripe: Payment processing (Pro subscriptions only).
